What is breathwork?
There are lots of types of breathwork, but the one I am referring to is a breathing pattern that is done laying flat on your back. You breathe through your mouth, two breaths in and one out. As you repeat this pattern, you flood your body with oxygen and it gets you into a bit of an altered state. It's really helpful to have a facilitator to help support you as you learn to keep the breath going.
The lights are low, eye masks are encouraged, music is played, aromatherapy is employed and all of these elements keeps whatever happens for you private and support you settling deeply into your own zone. It’s a sensual experience, like a mini retreat!
Some reactions or ways you may feel during or immediately after breathwork:
You may experience emotional release, you may feel like you are in a dream state, you may need to laugh or cry, you may feel tingling in your hands or around your mouth, you may feel deeply relaxed and could even fall asleep, you may have very clear instructions about what you/your life need…
when I know i need a breathwork session…
I use this practice at various times such as...:
when I feel stuck and can't clear my head,
when I need to ritually mark a new beginning or ending,
when I am emotional and can't quite get over what ever has me feeling down or triggered,
when I'm emotional but don't know why,
when I am trying to make a decision but can't quite tell what my intuition is saying,
when I want to gain vision for my life, when I want to expand what I think is possible and increase my faith,
when I am manifesting something new (love, money, opportunity),
when I am needing mental clarity to do creative work, or am seeking fresh inspiration…
